About Me

Hi, I'm Lauren

Originally from Scotland, I moved to Australia in 2014 with a 12kg backpack and in search of adventure.

Since then, I’ve built a life on my terms - filled with sunshine, freedom, a beach-loving Labrador, and meaningful work that lights me up.

After two decades in marketing - from grassroots non-profits to big corporates and high-growth startups - I’ve seen the best (and worst) of the industry.

And I’ve had enough of the BS.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve spent over 10 years working in male-dominated industries. Even when there’s “no boys club,” it still exists - and I’m no shrinking violet, yet I’ve often found myself fighting to be heard.

I’ve mentored countless younger women to trust their instincts, use their voice, and stop diluting themselves to fit into systems that weren’t built for them.

I’m done trying to fit in.

I’ve sat in boardrooms with big titles and bigger egos, and I’ve realised the playing field isn’t changing fast enough.

So at the end of 2024, I quit the corporate world and built my own field - one where women lead, build, and thrive on their own terms.

That’s what LouD is all about.

My Life, My Terms

I’m a single, child-free woman - and part of the first generation to fully embrace that path without apology. I’m deeply passionate about designing a life I love, with freedom, flexibility, travel, and work that matters.

I want that for other women too.

Not just more success - more meaning.
Not just a louder voice - a seat at their own table.

What I Value

(aka the non-negotiables)

The big one. I didn’t trade a steady corporate salary to build a business that felt like another 9-to-5 with lipstick on. I value the freedom to choose how I work, who I work with, and when I take my dog to the beach. And I want the same for you - a business that fits around your life, not the other way around.

If I wanted rigid structure, I’d still be sitting in back-to-back meetings where people say “let’s circle back” without ever circling back. Flexibility is how I stay sane, creative, and human. Some of my best ideas happen at 6am on a dog walk or mid-afternoon with a flat white in hand. This isn’t a productivity cult - it’s a business built to work.

I’m not here to ask for a seat at the table - I’m flipping the table and building one that actually works for us. I believe in dismantling outdated power structures, calling out the ‘subtle’ misogyny, and creating space for women to lead boldly - without shrinking, softening, or apologising.

I moved to the other side of the world with only a backpack and a curious mind - and I’ve never looked back. That same sense of adventure shows up in my business. I'm not afraid to try new things, ask big questions, or take the scenic route if it gets us somewhere better.

The world can be brutal. Business doesn’t have to be. I bring empathy, encouragement, and humanity into everything I do. You’ll never be made to feel ‘less than’ for not knowing something - I meet you where you are, then walk with you from there.

I’m not here to sell you fluff or tell you what you want to hear. I’ll tell you what you need to hear - kindly, clearly, and with a healthy dose of Scottish straight-talk. I believe marketing should feel like a mirror, not a mask.

What I Bring to the Table

I’m not your average marketer*.

With a BSc in Product Design and Engineering, a MSc in Marketing, and over 20 years of experience spanning design, data & insights, market research, digital marketing, marketing strategy and leadership - I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and learned how to grow a business from the ground up.

I Bring:

  • Real-world experience across B2C, B2B, non-profit, and startup environments

  • A strategist’s brain with a designer’s eye (and an analyst’s logic)

  • The ability to zoom out on the big picture, then help you execute with clarity

  • A genuine passion for helping women grow profitable + sustainable, values-led businesses

*Yep, that is me with a giant cannoli, celebrating my 40th birthday.

What I Bring
To Your Table

From corporate to startup leadership to freelance. I’ve done the 9-5 grind, run my own business, and built marketing strategies from the ground up.

I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I bring honesty, clarity, and real-world experience to every conversation.

I don’t believe in ‘late starts’ or following someone else’s path. I honour my own pace, and help women do the same - building with clarity and confidence, not comparison.

I’m not here to help women ‘compete’ with men, I’m here to help them change the playing field.

No fluff, no vague ‘find your why’ mantras. I help women get clear, get confident, and move forward with direction.
